Answer ( 1 )
Impulse is the change of momentum of an object when the object is acted upon by a force for an interval of time. Since the momentum is the product of the object’s mass and velocity and we’re given the condition that the tennis ball started from rest, we can calculate the change in momentum of the tennis ball.
Calculation:
Mball =m = 57 x 10 -3 kg
Viball = vi = 0 m/s
Vf,ball = vf = 45 m/s
J = change in p = pf-pi
J =pf-pi
=0
J = mvf – mvi
J mvf= 57x 10-3 x (45m/s)
Hence J= 2.565 N.s
